Piece Workers Wanted in Rainier Area
A couple of the women who come to the Rainier Senior Center work for the company below. They're looking for more people to do piece work. If you're interested, you can contact them. (Information is below.) They make money putting cat nip into hand made toys that are sold online. They do their work while they watch TV in the evening and can easily make $200 - $300 a month. Nice pin money.

Low Sugar - Sugar Free Red Plum Jam
Sugar Free Red Plum Jam
4 cups diced plums
1 cup lemon juice
3 Tbsp. Ball Sugar free Pectin
1 Tbsp. Butter
Up to 1 Cup Sugar Free Sweetener
Put diced plums and lemon juice in 8 quart saucepan. Gradually add pectin. Bring to a rolling boil. Add sugar substitute and bring back to a
hard, rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute.
Ladle into jam jars.
Process in hot water bath for 6 minutes.
Makes 8 four ounce jars jam.

New Emergency Notification System in Thurston County
Thurston County has a new Emergency Notification System. It is free to sign up for this information. All notifications are sent out specifically for the area you live in. (Called "Impact Zone.") You can have notifications sent by email, to your land line or to your cell phone. This will help you learn about emergencies or disasters in your area.

Chicken Tortilla Soup
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb. cooked and shredded chicken
14 0z can stewed tomatoes
19 oz can green enchilada sauce
1/2 cup chopped cilantro leaves
10 oz package frozen corn (or canned)
1 medium chopped onion
1 small can diced green chilies
1 can chicken broth
2 cups water
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 clove garlic
1 tsp cumin
1/3 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf
Toppings:
Tortilla Chips
Grated Cheddar Cheese
Diced Avacado
Sour Cream
Chopped Cilantro
Instructions:
Cook all ingredients in a crock pot for 3 - 4 hours on HIGH or 5 -
8 hours on LOW. Serve hot with toppings.

Pancakes for Snaza September 17th
Johns Snaza was is a motorcycle accident in Montana last week. He was critically injured.
That being said, he is now upgraded to serious condition and he is expected to make a full recovery.
John has facilitated "Coffee with a Cop" meetings in Rainier. George and I. along with many other citizens in our area, admire and respect him. We wish him a speedy recovery. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Pancakes for the Sheriff will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 7 AM - 10 AM at
Mr. Doug's Restaurant in Yelm. All donations will go to the Snaza Family Support Fund.
Please attend and show your support for John. He's been here - serving us for a long time.
